IGES acquires majority stake in UK consulting firm Optimax Access Ltd
Continuation of the European growth of the IGES Group - Expansion of life science services for international customers
Berlin, November 4th 2019 (IGES Institut) – The IGES Group continues its European growth. The most recent acquisition is the majority of the shares in the British consulting firm Optimax Access Ltd, based in Southampton (U.K.), which specialises in health economic consulting for manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
In March 2019, the first British company, Device Access Ltd., a medical technology consulting company, was integrated into the network. IGES Director Professor Bertram Häussler says: "With two highly specialised British companies, the IGES Group is a strong partner for the life sciences industry, which sees the UK as an important docking point for health markets both within and outside Europe. The acquisition of Optimax Access also reflects the growing importance of health economic analysis in bringing innovation to the market".
Optimax Access founder Dr. Mehdi Javanbakht will continue to manage the company as CEO. Dr. Mehdi Javanbakht said: "The services of Optimax Access and the IGES Group complement each other ideally and open up further growth. We are also united by the goal of providing strategic consulting at the highest methodological and scientific level.
